Winners List

Mix & Match Competition Rules.

The Venue

The competition will be held in alternate years at Moray C.C. and in the following year at Forres C.C.  In 2007/08 it will be at Forres.  The clubs will agree suitable dates and times.

Equipment

The home team will supply two screens and two separate selection tables.

Each team will provide its own 35mm projector and light box and or any other equipment they consider necessary for success.

Slides

Each team will enter a maximum of fifty 35mm slides for selection and use within the competition.  The slides must have been taken by a member of the competing club. Slides used in a previous mix & match between the two teams are ineligible.

Teams should arrive at the venue with only their fifty pre selected slides.

Club Teams & Judges

Each Club will appoint a team of five of their members which will consist of three selectors, a projectionist, and a score marker. One member of the team should be nominated as leader.

The home team will appoint the Judge and a Time Keeper.

The home Club must advise the visiting Club the name of the Judge at least one week in advance of the competition.

The Competition

The competition will be over 25 matched slides.  This may extend to a greater agreed number if time is available on the night and mutually approval by both team leaders and the judge.

The competition will continue without interruption to the final slide. (No half time break)

The judge may consider that slides are a match if similarities exist e.g. in subject matter, style, colour, etc. The decision as to whether it is/is not a match is entirely at the discretion of the judge whose decision will be absolutely final.

Teams will alternately lead & defend.

The visiting team will project the first leading slide.

The defending team must then attempt to produce a good matching slide within a time limit of 30 seconds. Should the defending team fail to make their selection within the time allowed then the point will be awarded to the opposition. The judge will have final decision ref time.

In the event that the defending team has not produced an acceptable match then the judge will award the point to the opposing team.

When a match is produced the judge will decide which of the two slides is the most attractive or best slide. The team with the best slide is then awarded the point.

The Trophy

The Mix & Match Trophy which will be engraved with the name of the winning club by the losing club before being presented to the winners, in the month following the Competition.

The Winners of the Competition held this year at Forres was Moray Camera Club by a substantial majority of the points.  We await the award of the trophy.
