History of GEORGE McKENZIE TROPHY COMPETITION : - The widow of George MacKenzie, a local professional photographer and founder member of the club, presented two trophies, for Slide and Mounted Print competitions, covering People or Landscape subjects in alternative years. The lady is now deceased.

Members should note that this competition will not be run in the year 2007/08

  1. The competition will be run for People or Landscape photography in alternate years. In year 2006 / 2007 it was for "Landscape"

  2. Entries may be slides and/or prints up to a maximum of three each. Please see the General Rules for guidance on how to mount your slides for entry into any competition.

  3. All prints must be clearly titled and labelled with your Club Membership Number on the back.

  4. Prints from slides previously entered in a Monthly or any other MCC Competition are permitted.

  5. Once entered, prints and slides may not be entered in a subsequent George McKenzie competition.

  6. The judge will be asked to select a first, second and third in each category (prints and slides).

  7. The winning positions of 1st, 2nd, & 3rd also gain points which are taken to account when adding all qualifying points for "George Esson Trophy for Photographer of The Year".  1st = 3pts, 2nd = 2 pts and 3rd = 1 point.

  8. Slide Competition Secretary is Bob Fraser. Print Competition Secretary is Frank Slowey.
